Hi,
I'm trying to create a ThinApp package for SQL Server 2005 Tools (It will be a prerequesites package for other applications). I'm actually only selecting the following option. So there is no real db etc being installed just the native tools etc.
I can create the package without a problem(I stop the DotNet and WMI services before capture) however when I run the SQL Configuration Manager I get the following error. "Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the the server is unreachable. Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 servers with SQL Server Configuration Manager. Invalid namespace [0x8004100e]"
I have read on a few post etc that the way to get around this is to run the virtual CMD "mofcomp sqlmgmprovider.mof". I have done this but now when I click on the SQL Configuration Manager icon I get a slightly different message.
I'm not too sure why it is giving me a access denied msg. has anyone else run into this problem and solved it?
Also has anyone managed to automate the earlier fix so that when you start Configuration manager you don't have to start a virtual CMD and run "mofcomp sqlmgmprovider.mof"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
