I have read that is possible to Applink up to 250 ThinApp packages together, however the RequiredAppLinks line in the Package.ini appears to have 260 charactor limit, can anyone advise how this would be done?

ThinApping Firefox version 52 Using ThinApp 5.2.2
Hello,
I am trying to ThinApp Mozilla Firefox v52 using ThinApp v5.2.2.
This is on a Windows 7 VM.
When I try to launch the ThinApp on my Windows 7 workstation, I receive an error that reads...Missing Import C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ucrtbase.dll->kernelbase.dll:CreateProcessW.
Does anyone know how to correct this? I currently have Firefox v49 ThinApp'd and it works fine, but the newer versions have this issue.
Many thanks for any help you can provide!!
ThinApp Changes Executable Name When Running Captured Application
Hello,
This is an interesting situation that I am having trouble finding a solution to. I am using ThinApp to capture a work related software application developed by another contractor. This piece of software uses multiple other pieces of software including things such as Visual Studio and other software developed by the same contractor.
Now the specific issue I have be grappling with is that it captures all of the software, but when you execute the newly created virtual application, it changes the name of an executable from TestStudio.exe to TE~926NW.EXE. We have attempted to manipulate the application build to try and figure out why the name would be changed, but we can find no explanation for the name change.
It doesn't appear to be a factor related to name length because other software executed have longer names. Nor does it appear to be related to duplicates as only one instance of this particular executable is ran at one time. The problem is that the TestStudio.exe is supposed to kill itself when finished, but because of the name change, the exe never dies, which stops the next steps in the execution.
I am attempting to develop a workaround, but an actual solution to fix the issue is definitely preferred. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Application Captured... what gets moved to new computer?
i just finished capturing an application and from within the bin folder, i have a .dat and a .exe file. the exe works fine. the app runs with no issues...
i now what to use the app on a different computer. Do i just move the exe file? do I need to move the entire 'capture folder' with all the %program% folders? if so where should i place it?
what is the next step in using the virtualized application on other systems.
thank you!
ThinApp Deletes Registry Values and then Queries for Deleted Values
This is an unusual situation. We are virtualizing a software application with multiple dependencies and other pieces of software required. During testing of the virtualized application, we used the Log Monitor to trace and found that one of the problems is that some registry values are queried, enumerated and deleted, but then it repeats that process and cannot find the values and just keeps cycling though this in an infinite loop.
This is obsolete software where we have no access to the source, but we do know that the when running the original software, the registry values are never deleted and the software will close as intended. In the virtualized version it starts this infinite loop and doesn't close the child process, thus making the entire virtual application run until it locks up and we have to taskkill it.
Has anyone else experienced this before?
What happens when my 60 day evaluation ends?
Hi, so far this product has been great. I've been having a ton of trouble getting a hold of sales for pricing, which is a bit crazy.
I am wondering though, what happens in 60 days after my evaluation expires? Currently I've just created one .exe for testing, but I was wondering if I purchase a license will I need to remake this .exe or how I tie my existing programs into a new license?
Or lets say I decide to go with a different product, will it automatically delete those old .EXEs?
or even say a few computers I have are offline only, using my PAID license to create the .exe, will it stop working after a set period of time if it can't contact the central licensing server? thank you very much if anyone has any answers regarding this
Captured EXE cannot write to virtual registry
This appears to be a bit of a unique situation. I have captured a collection of software and dependencies into one virtual package and one of the EXE has to write values to the registry when exiting. I was told by the original developers that the original software would have problems on Win7 or newer OS(s) performing this action unless the software was started with administrator privileges.
I have tried running the virtual application as administrator, but the registry values are still not written and it forces an infinite loop as it tries to keep writting the values. Just a special note here, I am testing the virtual application on the virtual machine used to capture it so it is not performing as intended on Windows XP 32-bit like the original software does and we are using ThinApp 5.2.2.
I was thinking of making the registry key have a merged isolation and then running the application as an administrator to see if it would attempt to write to the host registry, but not sure how well that will work.
Has anyone experienced this before? It seems weird that the virtual application doesn't have the ability to write to its own virtual registry.
UPDATE:
Just to add some more information...
I added entry points for regedit, cmd and added sysinternals that work with WinXP and found that even though I updated the permissions for th registry key in question, the virtual application package apparently has only read permissions and I cannot make any change to it. I cannot change ownership or change permissions to anything in the virtual registry.

dll comctl32 error when packaging think-cell
I try to package think-cell (www.think-cell.com) but the 'show datasheet option' does not work.
think-cell is an add-in for Powerpoint to easily create charts.
It has to call Excel to show a modal form. The following error occurs.
Toegang geweigerd is Dutch for Access denied.
When I open Excel (also has the plugin) and insert an chart into Powerpoint from Excel it works well and also gets back to Excel when click 'open datasheet'.
I tried to include the DLL in the package, calling the dll in the package.ini, first opening Excel and numerous other stuff (tried everything on Google) but nothing seems to be working..
Please help me on this one...
ThinApp-AppLink
I have Office 2013 and SAP GUI packaged as Thinapp.
I have received new request to create Thinapp where application installs Excel Add-in.
How to perform Applink here.
IE8 32 Bit - Windows 10 1709 64bits
Windows 10 - Build 1709 - 64Bits.
I have successfully built the application and included the various DLLs using the following links ( from Xp with IE6, upgraded to IE8, with various dlls .NET 2.0, XMHTML, ActiveX compononents added as required before the rescan)
How to package Internet Explorer 8 - VMware ThinApp Blog - VMware Blogs
for the initial build.
then added the files as stated in the following ( after modifying the params.ini and rebuiilding)
( I have the same error in that the browser will not open any Urls.)
In order to get the Application running I set the various files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Internet Explorer 8 (VMware ThinApp)... files to compatibility mode ( tried XP SP3 and Windows 7). IE 8 opens, very, very slowly and eventually it is possible to enter a URL but nothing happens thereafter.
In the image below , the left hand browser is IE8 32 Bits even though the dropdown box states IE11. The right hand browser is the real IE11, both are pointing to the same URL.
Unfortunately the IE8 never displays anything. I can only imagine that Thinapp is using some kind of virtual Proxy server to feed IE8.
Has anyone managed to get IE8 running in a 64 bit Windows 10 ( 1709) ? If so, are there other steps to take over and above those in the links mentioned ?
Cheers

Windows 10 1607/1709
Appvolumes 2.13.2
UEM 9.3
Thinapp 5.2.3
so I have an issue java it’s a pain with multiple versions for multiple application.
anyway I started a thinapp with a java version all going well till I deploy it.
the application starts creating files in the %appdata%\thinapp directory im happy with that except Windows firewall has the jp2launcher.exe blocked.
Does thinapp have a way that when this application writes it can go to C:\programdata or C:\.
thanks in advance

Capture multiple application in same Project Location with different Inventory Name
Hi,
We started to test out ThinApp to capture some application on a windows 10 pro VM machine. This is only a trial.
1) We tested to capture SAPGUI as following
Inventory Name: SAPLogon
Project Location: C:\Capture
Then we tested the build package and it was running fine in a share folder.
We are able to launch the SAPLogon without issue from remote computer.
2) Now, we want to include a single sign on tool into this SAPGUI as both must be in the same build in order for the SAPLogon single sign on to work.
Question:
2.1) I start the setup capture pre-scan, install the single sign on tool and post-scan, after that I was asked to enter
Inventory Name:
Project Location:
Can I used back the same setting as below. I am getting a message whether I would like to overwrite the Project Location. I am not too sure about this.
Inventory Name: SAPLogon
Project Location: C:\Capture
3) What I would like to do is to combine both SAPLogon and the single sign on into 1 single build package.
Since I already have existing Project Location and Inventory Name, how should I go about it?
Appreciate any help and advice here.
SAPGUI 7.50 ALV Excel not show record in the row
Hi,
I have managed a test trial to package SAPGUI 7.50 + SSO tools (give us single sign on from ADs) + Excel 2016 that was build into a single project.
I am able to launch the SAPGUI and single sign on into the system without issue.
In the Package.ini file, I have setup the the parameter for the below.
VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM=0
ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions=WINWORD.EXE;EXCEL.EXE;POWERPNT.EXE;OUTLOOK.EXE;MOC.EXE
ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault=Virtual
Then I build the package using build.bat.
The issue is when I have a ALV report and when I tried to click on the Microsoft Excel icon, it will automatically switch the display from ALV into a Excel like window with the result of the rows from ALV to Excel. I can do this without issue if I have local SAPGUI installed on my laptop.
I test launch the saplogon.exe on 2 scenarios:
1) Laptop that do not have SAPGUI install but have Excel 2016. Result ==> the ALV to Excel display but without the rows.
2) Laptop that do have SAPGUI install and Excel 2016. Result ==> the ALV to Excel display with proper rows.
With ThinApp virtual SAPGUI, the result is not there.
I am not sure why I still need to installed local SAPGUI on my laptop for it to work, since the entire SAPGUI is already package together with SSO + Excel 2016.
I have already check the Trusted Settings in Excel. It all seems to be fine.
Any ideas and help ?
